Pre-Requisites
The following sections will list the minimum hardware and software requirements to use or connect to Business Central online, and to install and run Business Central on-premises (version 15). Ensure that you have the following updates in your Servers & Client machines:
Database Server Requirements:
Supported operating systems
Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, or Education (64-bit edition).
Windows Server 2019 Standard, Essentials, or Datacenter.
Windows Server 2016 Standard, Essentials, or Datacenter.
SQL Server
Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Express, Standard, or Enterprise.
Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Express, Standard, or Enterprise.
Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Express, Standard or Enterprise.
Azure SQL Database Managed Instance, Elastic Pool, or Single Database.
NOTE: If there is no SQL Server installed int he machine, the default installation will install SQL Server 2016 Express version (free).
NOTE for Developers: If you do not have SQL license, you can try out SQL Server 2019 Developer Edition or Express edition which are free of cost (limitations apply).
Hardware resources
Hard disk space: 2 GB.
Memory: 2 GB for only running the application. 16 GB for publishing the application to the server.
NOTE: 8 GB RAM is also enough, conditions apply.

Windows Powershell 4.0
